Twelve years in the making and it’s the first time that I didn’t drop Mila to the wrong school or the wrong day (the year she got into the French Lycée in London, I took her the day before school started). It’s also the first time, I got everything done in time including school supplies courtesy of the parents association, which had the brilliant idea to centralise all purchases to save time and money to the parents. All I had to do was ticked a list, send a cheque and collect everything last Saturday (time spent on buying school stationary = 10 minutes, Stress level = peanuts). God Bless Parents Associations!!On Sunday, I got overwhelmed (and sad) by the realisation that she is growing up fast but today I’m feeling better now. These feelings come and go and we just have to make the most of the time we have with our kids, while we can, can’t we!? At the end of the day, I’m hugely proud of the human being she is and the …
I spotted this fabulous pencil leather skirt (5) and this new shearling-lined leather jacket (1) before flying to Barcelona and thought they would be perfect for a winter look.
The inspiration for this photoshoot was this photo, which has nothing to do with the result but that’s how inspiration works. A theme, a colour, a person can trigger a whole set of emotions and take your imagination to places it has never been. When I sent the photo to Perrine, she told me she looked nothing like the girl on the photo but she trusted me. We shot at Le Blockhaus. The place was packed and yet it looks like we were the only two people at the bottom of the Dune of Pyla, facing the bay…Photography & Styling: Karine Candice Köng Model: Perrine Fifadji Singer, Dancer & Choregrapher, Perrine will start giving singing lessons in Bordeaux from October 2016. I’m not sure why but I’m feeling very attracted to nude and soft pink lately, considering I’ve never been a pink person but I find these soft hues very pretty and feminine. Steve is back from his road trip in South America so we are going out tonight to catch up on two weeks of date nights ;-)
Which one is your favourite fashion Designer? The one you always go back to? For me, it’s definitively Isabel Marant. Each year, I try to treat myself to one or two pieces that will fit my style, my lifestyle and body shape or at least, will make me look taller or slimmer like the Dickers boots. I’m on my second pair and they have such the perfect height that they lengthen my calves and make my legs look slimmer. I also love how comfy they are.
Following your feedback on the reader survey, I’m starting a new feature…well actually re-visiting an one old as the majority of you enjoy these fashion posts and others want more of the Get the Look with prices. The Monday must-have one will be short and sweet, focusing on one thing, one style, one look…not necessarily fashion, sometimes it will be interiors but it will be short, inspiring and uplifting and that’s all we want on a Monday morning. Let me know if you like it…
